Our Purpose

Our Purpose

     Some people say, "Retire now, Work later."  Looking at what Jeremy and I are doing, those same people might but us in that category of thinking.  We have not retired… we are living the life that has been provided for us, and helping others along the way.  Love is the purpose of our lives.

     Before we set out on our journey, we were tired of living our cookie-cutter life, back in Canada.  We had hit a wall, after 5 years of many highs.  The 1st high: Marriage … then building a house, … finishing school, … new jobs, … and finally, selling our new house to renovate an old one.  Once the renovations were complete, we had a feeling of, "now what?"  We felt like, aside from children, we have accomplished already what so many people strive to do.  Many would say, "RELAX!".  I am not one for sitting though.

     From the time I was little, I have been compassionate, and Jeremy shares the same heart.  I have always had a burning desire to help others - those people sitting on the street corner, those children without breakfast in the morning, the lonely, the abused.  A need to make a difference, to make change happen.

     So, we hopped on a plane.  In the past 8 months since we have started our journey, we have made small impressions along the way; however, our experiences are changing us even more.  The way we think about life, missions, sin, the developing world vs. the developed world… these have all changed .

     Time will only tell what lies in wait for our futures.  We are not retired, we are living.
